Angelica

ANGELICA graphic

Angelica- Young Living

🦋 FUN FACTS 🦋

This plant rows wild in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and Iceland, mostly in the northern parts of the countries, but it is cultivated mostly in France.  Angelica is from the parsley family, but don’t let that deter you. Legend has it that this oil got its name from an old monk’s tale in which an angel revealed this plant for healing during the plague.   It goes by many names, including the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit Root, Archangel Root and Oil of Angels, probably because its healing powers were so great that the origin must have only been from a Divine Source. History also records its usage during the plague of 1660. People chewed the plant stems to ward off infection, and the seed and roots were used to purify the air. In Germany, this oil is known as the “essence of the Angels.”

🦋 WHAT IT DOES 🦋

While Angelica’s primary use is for cooling,  Energetically, this essential oil assists the user to be open to the angelic realm, source energy and higher self and has a history of aromatherapy use towards combating stress, exhaustion and anxiety. Because Angelica is both a relaxant and a stimulant at the same time, it soothes the nerves while simultaneously encouraging alertness. This is a wonderful oil to use for mental focus.

Medicinally, this oil helps promote calmness in the face of spasms- involuntary and unpredictable contractions of the respiratory tracts, muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and internal organs. Often times the only way out is to induce relaxation in the affected parts, which Young Living’s Essential Oil of Angelica is able to do. This relaxing effect is beneficial in driving out gas from the intestines as well- as the abdominal and intestinal walls relax, the gas can more easily pass through. It also stimulated the production of bile and gastric juices, so Angelica supports healthy gas levels and digestive comfort.

Angelica also helps to promote urination and sweating, which aids the body in detoxification. In addition, this oil is wonderful for supporting healthy liver function; Detox of the body through urinary, sweat and liver processes help to boost the immune system . As the body gets rid of undesirable materials, it grows stronger in the “fight.”

Angelica also works to support the bronchial passages, sinuses and generally encourages ease of respiration.

In contrary to its behavior as a relaxant, it is a stimulant for the systems functioning inside the body. It stimulates blood circulation, the secretion of hormones, enzymes, and other juices, and also stimulates metabolic processes, including digestion, absorption, and excretion. This attribute, in total, stimulates healthy growth.

Black Pepper & Black Pepper Vitality

Black Pepper graphic

Black Pepper & Black Pepper Vitality- Young Living

💥 FUN FACTS 💥

Black Pepper, one of the most used spices on planet earth, is so commonplace that its medicinal values largely go unrecognized. Its essential oil is steam distilled form berries grown in Egypt, Madagascar and India. Pepper was used by the Egyptians in mummification as evidenced by the discovery of black pepper in the nostrils and abdomen of Ramses II. Indian monks ate several black pepper corns a day to maintain their incredible stamina and energy

For centuries, black pepper was as highly prized as gold and silver and accounted for 70% of the international spice trade. During the Dark Ages, Arab traders had a monopoly on the black pepper trade. To maintain this monopoly and keep the source of black pepper a closely-guarded secret (and hence increase the price and prestige of black pepper), they came up with a great story. The tale they told was that black pepper grew in groves of trees that were guarded by poisonous snakes. In order to harvest the black pepper, the trees had to be burned in order to drive out the snakes. This process ( so they said) also turned the originally white fruit black! That myth worked for a long time.

💥 WHAT IT DOES 💥

Historically, pepper was used for thousands of years for malaria, cholera and digestive issues. Today, pepper’s primary common use is to revive someone who has fainted. However, pepper is also stimulating and comforting for those who are awake as well! This oil may help maintain healthy cholesterol levels, detox the body, enhance circulation, increase cellular oxygenation, support digestive glands, and stimulate the endocrine system, increase energy, aid with addiction recovery, improve a healthy appetite, aid muscle tone, support joint connective tissue, aid circulation and help one regain balance and settle the nerves from imbalance.

Studies have shown that Curcumin (the active compound of turmeric) is made readily bioavailable with the presence of black pepper- any good turmeric supplement should have black pepper as a main ingredient

Aromatically, black pepper is said to help people examine things with clarity and honesty

I’m one of those people who can’t sit and do “nothing.”

🙄Don’t take me to a beach and expect me to lay in the sun and relax. 🏖 I’ll be up and down a thousand times. I’ll be walking it’s length, picking up seashells, reorganizing the space under the umbrella… (true story)

🏰 Don’t take me to Europe and expect me to sit for hours in a cafe, when there are countless streets to walk, corners to turn, people to meet, pictures to take.

📲If you see me sitting on my phone, I’m not playing Candy Crush (is that still a thing?) I’m editing photos, movies, stories… making notes for future classes, planning, learning, DOING!

📚 I travel with books because I hate watching movies on the plane. There is always something more to read and learn!

💺And you don’t want to sit in the seat next to me because I’ll be wiggling and squirming like a four year old if my brain isn’t entertained!

👯‍♀️ That being said, I do waste plenty of time in my own way. I’m super social- I love my amazing friends and I love pouring time into relationship. I can chat over the fence for hours. Keep up a text thread like you wouldn’t believe. Lunch date? I’m IN! Let’s socialize!

As a blue and yellow personality, I find myself spinning in circles quite often. As a creative, my mind is always engaged in the next project (even if this one’s not finished!) As a mom, homeschooler, business owner, wife & teacher, my thoughts are constantly occupied. Don’t be surprised if you have to say my name several times before I hear you- and if the name you use is “Mom” you may need to also jump around and wave your arms
🤭
I’m a firm believer that the time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time, but there is a difference between being passive with your time and being actively engaged – It’s all about forward motion.

Are you growing that relationship?

Are you discussing new ideas?

Are you refining your gifts and talents?

Or are you sitting in one place?

👉 It doesn’t matter if you are career-minded or domestic, amateur or professional, high-energy or slow and methodical. Just. Keep. Moving. Forward.

There is infinitely more satisfaction in activity rather than passivity. So what are you waiting for?

🤷🏻‍♀️

PANAWAY OIL

PANAWAY

 PanAway® – Young Living

💙  FUN FACTS 💙

PanAway® is a blend of Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove, and Peppermint essential oils. It has a refreshing, invigorating aroma and has a cooling sensation when you apply it on your skin. It feels amazing when you apply it to fatigued muscles after exercise or during a massage! The oils in this popular blend are VERY powerful and contain constituents that have been heavily studied.

💙 WHAT’S IN  IT 💙

• WINTERGREEN – strong, penetrating aroma beneficial for muscles, bones, joints and brings amazing comfort to the musculoskeletal system

• HELICHRYSUM– uplifting to the subconscious, incredibly healing to the tissues, stimulating proper cellular function, particularly supports the cardiovascular system, muscles and bones

CLOVE –  supports the cardiovascular, digestive, immune and respiratory system, helps the body maintain healthy inflammatory levels

PEPPERMINT – soothing to the digestive, nervous, respiratory systems, and the muscles and bones

Constituents to research – methyl salysylate, neryl acetate, eugenol, menthol

* PanAway has a child proof cap because of the high amount of Wintergreen essential oil. Wintergreen is high in Methyl salicylate. Methyl salicylate and menthol are used as the active ingredient in many sports creams, but unless they are Young Living brand creams, the active ingredients are usually from a synthetic source.

💙 What It Does 💙

• Has a refreshing, stimulating aroma

• Causes a cooling sensation on skin that makes it ideal to use after a workout or physical activity

• Includes the naturally occurring constituents methyl salicylate, gamma-curcumene, menthol, and eugenol

💙 IDEAS FOR USE – TOPICAL/ AROMATIC 💙

• PanAway is a great blend to keep in your gym bag! Apply it topically after exercise to areas that need attention.

• Dilute PanAway with V-6™ Vegetable Oil complex or another carrier oil* for use in massage.

• Apply 1–2 drops on your temples, neck, back, or forehead to help you feel refreshed and for a cooling sensation.

• Add it to your favorite non-scented cream for a pre- and post-workout cream.

Many women enjoy the aromatic benefits of PanAway oil over their lower abdomen at specific times
