Tea Tree

Tea Tree- Young Living

Tea Tree, also known as Melaleuca alternifolia, is one of the most widely used and extensively researched essential oils. Some of the benefits of Tea Tree include cleansing properties, as well as a refreshing scent. The oil is extracted from the steam distillation of leaves and branches of the Melaleuca alternifolia tree, which is native to Australia. Tea Tree essential oil has been described as having a fresh, camphor-like smell

The leaves of the melaleuca tree have been used for centuries by the aborigines for its innumerable healing applications, particularly to wounds and the skin. These native Australians crush tea tree leaves to extract the oil, which the would apply as a poultice, inhale the vapors, or apply oil to the body. Tea Tree oil is also prized for its effectiveness in respiratory support, joint support, skincare, scalp conditioning, helping the skin to maintain a healthy microbial balance, and much much more

Constituents to research: terpinene-4-ol, gamma terpinene, and alpha-terpinene.
